It Ain't Over 'til the Equinox Swings

dear beachcombers & wayward roamers,

the dog days of summer continue to be a great friend to me creatively. i've had a blast at the first two nights of Jaggery: Unabridged--such a blast in fact that i decided to play at Night #3 as well on my way up to maine for family vacation. on Night #2 i got to manifest what for many years was only a daydream in my head: singing my song "oh, aunt clara!" with a pianist, drummer, and trumpet player! it's a song about my infamously foul-mouthed great-great aunt who was a vaudeville and burlesque performer in the 1930s. here's a
link in case you missed it!

on Night #3, i'll play one of my songs with
valerie thompson on cello, and there may be a collaboration with raky sastri in which i play an instrument that starts with 'har' but does NOT end in the letter 'p'!

in addition to this wonderful madness, i'll be reading a couple of poems back in my hometown in early september. read on for details.

as the cicadas crescendo,
petaluma
